Do you enjoy trimming your little people’s nails? Have you struggled to find time do your own?
If you answered yes, I’m impressed. And yet, slightly repulsed. Ha! If you answered no, what can I say…life’s a drag sometimes. Especially, when it comes to this hygienic chore. As I’m typing I’m starting to realize this act of nail trimming has probably scarred me for life. Yes, I’m being a little dramatic. For me, everything is manageable with honesty and a good sense of humor. Listen, I was the oldest of three in a single parent home, which means I practically raised my siblings, which means I went through plenty of the borderline impossible nail trimming. I can’t forget how fast my brother’s nails would grow and the hassle it was to trim them because of how ticklish he was. My sisters weren’t as bad that I can recall. However, I do remember how time consuming it was, the amount of convincing it took, and then once the convincing was over…how careful I had to be not to hurt any of them while they wriggled about. Back then, they didn’t have these fancy nail salon quality gadgets for home use. Anyhow, I’m just happy we all survived me as the oldest and we all love each other to pieces.
Needless to say, I knew way early on raising a child of mine own wouldn’t be easy. More so, because of how critical I was about the things I wasn’t going to do when it was my go. In an effort to satisfy this quest, I made a list of all the items we would need in order to make all the things of caring for baby much easier to manage. When I was searching for a baby nail trimmer I came across this Mommy Mu’s Baby’s Manicure Set. Personally, I thought it was going to be just another gimmicky product and forgot I had even placed it on the baby registry. I’m so glad I was off on my prediction.
Some of the technical added benefits to this manicure set is that it has different tips you can swap out as the baby’s nails get stronger. It also comes with tips you can use on grown ups for a full mani/pedi experience. This allowed me to trim Frankie’s nails as well as my own. Plus, the nail file pads are replaceable! I’ll list those below as well. I did keep the tips I use on her, just for use on her nails and vice versa. I also sanitize the tips and the handle after each use with a rubbing alcohol dipped baby wipe. I recommend doing this to keep everyone’s nails healthy and to maintain the manicure set.
Straight up, it’s been my unexpectedly favorite baby/family gift alongside a few others, which I’ll list below under the “Products Mentioned”. And, rather than express WHY it’s both the most unexpectedly needed and also the most thoughtful gift for a new parent…check out the video to see for yourself how easy it has made taking care of those precious little hands with the utmost ease and quickness. I vowed to make my blogs short and to the point, so you can just get what you need and move on with your already jam packed day. “And if you don’t know, now you know…” - The Notorious B.I.G.
By the way, thank you Mrs. A and Mr. Bob, for knowing what we’d need and use the most while raising our beloved Frankie Jane. Even those cloth diapers believe it or not, have been useful for gently wiping her down, using as burp cloths, drying dishes/bottles, laying her down on, and now as her table napkin. I’m telling you. They know. :-)
Ps. I you have any questions on this product or any other, please comment below. We’d love to hear from you.
Be well.
