A NEW REASON TO BE THANKFUL

Tomorrow, I'm gonna try to do that thing where I power my phone off and forget it exists.

Remember when…

"...When no one knew what we looked like. No one could reach us. And, we were like Gods."

I tried the no phone thing during an unintentional Friendsgiving we were invited to. I had the incentive that our friends are not into much tech in their home. I gotta say, it felt like the good old days.

Anyhow, I’m getting my thoughts out tonight, so that I can do that thing where I'm strictly focusing on what's going on in person. Here goes:

Of all the things we're thankful for this year like our family, friends, our home, our jobs, our health, all the beautiful nature on this planet, etc. This morning I woke up asking myself, “What am I thankful for that is not the already obvious?” I'd figured it out. Then, while I was getting FJ ready for school, we sang the, "What are you thankful for…” Coco Melon cartoon song. And, do you know what her answer was when I asked her what she's especially thankful for this year? The same thing I thought of... Preschool! 😂😆😁🤩😘

I love that her preschool has taught her so many new things. My favorite though, without a doubt has been her learning about the history of how groups of different people came together to form our country and why it's so special. These amazing teachers taught them in the simplest way so that she and her classmates can understand something so complex. We're so very thankful we witnessed this lesson with all of the other parents during the school's Thanksgiving Feast. A piece from that day:

"They came together and formed a friendship. They looked different. They sounded different. They didn’t even speak the same language. But, they worked together and they made life better. So, we learn from them."

Before the Thanksgiving Feast experience, there was another moment (just a few days shy of her third birthday (she was born Oct. 3rd) that made me so thankful for her preschool. It was when we were both showering together and as I'm standing behind her rinsing her hair…she then in the most angelic little voice recited her pledge of allegiance. Can I tell you how tender a moment and how proud I was of her? I'll just say, I'll never forget it.

Since then, she's wanted me to record her reciting it. Actually, its been pretty sweet watching the progression and fine tuning she's done all on her own. We're all so proud of her. She's proud of herself too. As she should be. So, yeah. That's a new one we're thankful for. I almost forgot!

Happy Thanksgiving Eve and Day to you and yours!

By the way, I’d love to know...What are you thankful for?

XOXO, Stells
