Paint The Town Red!
Dear Santa, this year I snagged a little something early FOR MYSELF!
Wasn’t sure how I was even going to be able to pull off all the prep work for a holiday market pop-up shop sale and do a write up on this item I bought for myself. But…it got me in such a good holiday cheerful spirit, I HAD TO make it happen. And, I did! Here goes…

I’ve always preferred to have clean natural nails and only did nail polish for special occasions. I for one, don’t have the patience it takes to do it or have someone do it for me. It’s too much sitting still time, which drives me nuts! Lol. I didn’t mind it AS much when the nail industry started coming out with more fast drying options. But, the truth is I still wasn’t sold on the idea of using them because there are so many harmful chemicals in them, and my health is more important. Anyhow, when I was pregnant and about to get married, I wanted to have manicured nails, so I went on the internet and began to look for a safer alternative. I did find a brand called Knocked Up, which I liked except they no longer exist.
That’s when I discovered ella + mila. It was actually one of the first brands that I’d done a product review video on, and I’m so happy that I did as several other women have now started using this healthier nail care options. Here’s that video for reference: ella + mila Nail Polish and Polish Remover
I love that these polishes are smooth (non clumpy) and dry quicker than even the not as healthy ones that are labeled quick dry, etc. When I first bought them I thought for sure they’re not going to last very long because they don’t have all the added chemicals. I was wrong. They last the same amount of time as all the others with the exception of gel nail polish. That stuff is awful for us though. Especially, if used for long periods of time. All ella+mila polishes are 17-Free! “What's 17-Free?” you may ask. 17-free is a wonderful thing! It means that all ella+mila products are made WITHOUT:Acetone, Animal-Derived Ingredients, Bisphenol-A, Camphor, Ethyl Tosylamide, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, Gluten, Glycol Ether of Series E (Gycol ethers derived from ethylene oxide), Nonylphenol Ethoxylate, Parabens, Phthalates (including DBP), Styrene, Sulfate, Toluene, Triphenyl Phosphate (TPHP/TPP), Xylene.
I really hope that all my humans out there who love to have good looking hands and nails consider looking into this ella +mila for their nail needs.
Anyhow, I had been jonesing for a different color than the two I already had for a few months now. I had been eyeing a few shades of red since I have a nude/pink and dark red almost black color. Those are the basic colors I want. However, red nail polish wasn’t on the top of my priorities with all the happy madness that is family/small business owner life. In retrospect, it should’ve been.
The holidays are here, and I decided to treat myself to the perfect shade of red: Paint The Town Red. They do have other shades of red, this one is from their “Mommy Collection”. I am so in love with this new color in my little collection! It’s simply gorgeous. It gave me such confidence and joy while I was making a fresh batch of our all natural perfumes. This batch was especially important for me because they’re for Valley Love Market a local holiday market in our neighboring town. I’ve been rocking it since I bought it a couple weeks ago and even received several compliments from customers at this event. It’s kind of silly that something as small and as simple as red nail polish can bring such empowerment and positivity. But, that’s the nature of the beast that is visually pleasant. Hence, why it compelled me to share it with you.
I really hope if you run into this post that you buy ella+mila - Paint The Town Red for yourself and/or for someone you know (especially the pregnant and/or nursing ones) would enjoy nail polish as a gift. It’s such a healthier alternative. Also, I see no sense in getting a healthier nail polish and then using regular nail polish remover. It defeats the purpose of using products with safer ingredients, right? So, I recommend grabbing their ella = mila Soy Nail Polish Remover with Lavender essential oil. It’s Non Acetone + Alcohol Free with Vitamins A, C, & E. I’ve had mine for close to 2 years now and it works and smells so much better than all the other removers I’ve ever tried.
So, that’s that. I hope you’re doing all the big and little things that make You + Yours extra cheery and ready for some quality family time over the holidays! Wishing you a very Merry Christmas Eve and Day!
