Post Pregnancy Body Strengthening Excercises
I realize this isn't the typical instructional exercise video. When I recorded these little sessions, they were meant purely for documenting my experience, as I so often do. Recently, I was invited to talk about "Mommy Self Care", so I jotted down several of my key must do's and must have's as a Mum.

Hey Self Care! Remember Me?
I looked back at the very early days and remembered how different it is to get back into shape when you're working with a body that morphed itself to give birth to a baby. I can even recall that working out during pregnancy was much easier than post pregnancy. After having a natural birth I felt my body really needed to gain it's strength back in order to best care for my baby and for MYSELF as well. My core muscles and my pelvic area felt so weak and I knew I needed to get them in shape without hurting my groin area that was still so fragile. Another thing I understood is that I need those core muscles in order to take care of my back. I've always suffered from back pain due to a very bad car accident and so the pregnancy, postpartum, and nurturing my newborn exacerbated my back to new extremes.
The exercises you'll watch me do in these clips allowed me to gain back the muscle strength I needed to get by without injuring my body and while taking care of our baby. I hope in my sharing this video, I encourage anyone who has a newborn or suffers from back pain to try these simple exercises you can do at home with little to no equipment. I hope it also serves as a little reminder that Mommy Self Care and Self Care in general doesn't have to be complicated and it's so important and necessary in order to live a happier + healthier life.
